Athleta is having a 20% off sale through January 19. Use code ATHLETA20. They have a bunch of great new spring arrivals, so now's the time to stock up!
I had $60 in rewards from my Banana Republic credit card, so I saved even more on my order. Here's what I got!
Chain Be Free Knicker, $51.20 with discount
I have one pair of Be Free Knickers from last year and LOVE them for running. The fabric is a very soft, matte knit. The advantage of that type of fabric over the typical sleek fabric (i.e. Lulu Luxtreme) is that tops don't ride up. The fabric is also lightweight, making these knickers great for summer running. I also love that there are two side pockets at the hips in addition to a zippered back pocket. While I like solid color bottoms and don't typically buy prints, my favorite colors are grey and purple, so I just couldn't resist. If I find that these knickers make my legs scream, "Hey, look at my crazy legs!" I'll send them back but wanted to give them a try.
Fastest Track Tank Sleek, $35.20 with discount
The "sleek" version is an update to Athleta's Fast Track series. While I liked the soft, seamless fabric when I tried on the Fast Track tank, I didn't like the side ruching since it wouldn't lie flat under other tops. I also found it very short. I bought a size up (medium) to add some length. I'm excited to try this version. I ordered the Sparkling Purple color, the same shade as in the knickers.
Heather Stripe Chi Tank, $33.60 with discount
I have several tops and tanks in Athleta's Chi series, and I like them all. I recently found myself thinking I need another white tank since I find that I'm frequently layering white or light grey tanks under things. I like that the heather stripe adds a bit of visual interest and makes it different while still giving me another white tank option.
Metro Slouch, $71,20 with discount
Okay, this was a complete impulse buy that I'm not sure I'll keep. My husband frequently teases me about always wearing tights. These are a loose fitting pant from Athleta's urban-inspired collection. They are made of the knit Pilayo fabric, and reviewers say they are are warm enough to wear in winter. In fact, reviewers are raving about how soft, comfortable, and flattering they are. I thought it would be nice to have non-tights casual pants to wear in winter, so I'm giving them a try. They were pricey even with the discount, so if I don't absolutely love them they'll go back.
